Chips with Everything

A personal explanation.

Prior to retiring, occasional writing, broadcasting and lecturing gave particular satisfaction; possibly only to the main participant.

He now lives on a smallholding in Norfolk and amuses himself by writing, mostly for his own pleasure, on a wide range of subjects: fact and fiction, short stories, novels, articles and essays, biographical and autobiographical, humour and the not so funny, business and arts, ethics, history and politics.

The news service, published here, is written with overseas readers in mind. Background and comment reflecting the writer's views and opinions have been added.

There are a links to a series covering the evolution of the port and to another attempting to predict its future.

Seaports touch the lives of everyone, knowledge and informed discussion helps make sure their presence brings the maximum in benefit and the minimum of harm.

These offerings should provoke some discussion, and perhaps entertain or enrage former colleagues.

Comments and criticism are always welcome. Do bear in mind that the author always reserves the right, not exercised in the case of polite correspondence however, to publish anything received.
