Brent Vale Farm - A Very Short History (If new to LCW, this is the best place to get a sense of the issues.) The New Willesden Sports Centre - Hype vs. reality Excess Chlorine Incident - Kids pool had 17x too much chlorine- April 2008 Vale Farm Showers - Over six years to fix showers installed by LC Willesden Sports Centre The contract for a new centre has gone to a consortium that includes LC despite a history of complaints. Willesden - Bill O'Neill's Correspondence about state and closure Willesden - Press Items about Closure Safety at Vale Farm Or rather lack of it. Vale Farm May - June 2004 - Some correspondence Vale Farm May - Sept & Oct 2004 - Some correspondence Vale Farm Feb 05 - Update and some correspondence Vale Farm Archive A small part of the earliest correspondence Escalated Complaints Log of the escalations and reply times Apologies Received Some of the ways in which LC and Brent have accepted the issues reported Audit Commission What the AC says about Brent and its Leisure Services level of competence Freedom of Information Brent's curmudgeonly approach to informing ratepayers and users Making a Complaint How to complain to Brent Council and Leisure Connection Correspondence with Councillor Starts with why LC got the Willesden contract and soon progresses to Freedom of Information, or lack of it. Whitewater Fiasco - How Brent paid £370k+ for sacking the first contractor from Vale Farm and learned little from the experience. Brent is one of the Greater London boroughs. Parts are high density and high social need and towards the north lie more affluent pockets and some large open areas. The borough is now dominated by the new Wembley Stadium arch, about one kilometer from Brent Town Hall. Putting aside the issue of Brent Council services, I have enjoyed my fifteen years in the borough and the diversity of the population. PB |
