Cheltenham From The Citizen, 1 April 2003 (this
article no longer available online) From http://www.leisureopportunities.co.uk/newsdetail.cfm?codeID=4253 Councillor Rowena Hay, deputy for health and wellbeing, said: The contract handover provides a tremendous opportunity to ensure that Cheltenham's sport and recreation facilities are being managed and operated to a standard and quality which are expected and which meets the needs of our customers. Cheltenham and County Harriers Newsheet October 2002 http://www.cheltenhamharriers.co.uk/NewsSheets/October2002.doc Jim Coates complained on behalf of the Road Running group that the hike in track charges had been made with very short notice – less than a week. Leisure Connection maintain that we had been given subsidised entry whilst the track was condemned until it had been resurfaced and brought back up to standard and now the charges are comparable to other stadiums. We have written a letter of complaint to Leisure Connection about the manner in which this was done. Unison Company Update October 2001 http://www.unison.org.uk/resources/document_view.asp?did=279 Leisure Connection is in danger of losing its contract to run Cheltenham Recreation Centre. The company has received 32 warnings for poor cleanliness and 17 for other problems since it took control of the centre in 1996. |
