Design notes: Most the characters are artists - mainly painters. The set is dominated by a huge abstract painting which doubles as a gauze, as well folding and sliding to transform the space and to frame (on several levels) the action. The same abstract image is echoed in greys on the back wall, though here it is combined with bricks and neon. Both the back wall and the gauze combine to create an environment that can be continually adapted and re-imagined by light. The urban world the characters inhabit, defined by surfaces, space, light and colour, cannot be seperated from the art they make.
