2012 Season Fees

Membership (note the driver must be a member) - £5
Rally Fee Per Car - £10

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Club aims to organise 8 'Trials' during the year. They are all 'Closed to Club' events, that is only members of Ilkandis may compete in them.

If four or more events are run within a single calendar year then these form two (Social) championship competitions. One for the driver, and a second for the nominated navigator.
For the purpose of the championships, points gained from each event are summated. If a participant in the championship has not organised an event within that season, then their best set of points are deleted from the summation.

The events may be entered with any "road-legal" machine, having the appropriate insurance.

Here is a quick guide to rallying for beginners, with luck it will get you started if you have never been on one of our events before.

See below for a breakdown of the events.

DAVES MINI126 and MiniThe Enterprise Rally

Until 2002 this was an additional event that had not been seen in the Ilkandis calendar since the 1950's. It was added as an extra off-road driving test and has become so popular that it has become a regular event. This year it will be run as a partial off-road event but with a main-road section.

For the 2008 season the event was organised by Dave and Rob and ran on the 28th of September.

For this event the winning driver was Elliott Woolley, and the winning navigator was Gemma Woolley.

Panda126 and CorsaThe Gamble

This is a night trial. Usually on or just after the weekend in Autumn when the clocks go back. Formats vary, with one or two 'halves' the latter having a pub stop, usually until closing time before continuing into the night.
It is named after Ray Gamble, who donated a number of trophies to the Club in the 1950's. Mr Gamble was the proprietor of a thriving motor cycle sales and service business in Ilkeston. The business still exists today.

The Gamble is unique within the Ilkandis calendar in that it sometimes contains a second event. Stemming from the earlier days of motor sport when lady drivers were rare, a 'special' event was created to encourage their participation. If there are three or more lady drivers taking part in the night rally, then a 'Ladies Competition' is deemed to be run within the main event. A separate cup is awarded for the highest placed lady driver, whilst they are still assumed to be competing for the overall trophy.

For this event the winning driver was Gemma Woolley, and the winning navigator was Elliot Woolley.
