1.That the club shall be called "The Ilkeston & District Motorcycle and Car Club" and shall have for its object the encouragement and protection of motorists' interests in this district.

2. The Club shall be affiliated to the Auto Cycle Union (ACU), the fees for which shall be included in the annual subscription.

3. The Club shall organise tours for members and their friends and competitions open to members of the club.

4. The Club shall be essentially a members' Club and shall be conducted independently of any personal interest.

5. The Club shall be governed by an executive consisting of:

- a Chairman,
- a Hon Secretary
- a Treasurer
- and a general committee of at least six.

The Officers and committee shall be elected for the year at the Annual General Meeting together with one auditor. In the case of a vacancy occurring in the Officers or members of the committee, the Executive Committee shall immediately co-opt another in the stead of the one suspended or vacating the office.

6. In the event of a committee member being absent from three consecutive committee meetings and not giving a satisfactory reason for absence, the member will automatically be suspended from the committee.

7. Should any Officer of the Club accept permanent office in any other motor organisation, he or she shall cease to hold any official position in this club.

8. Extraordinary General Meetings may be convened by direction of the Committee or the written requisition of not less than twelve members; fourteen clear days notice to be given of such a meeting.

9. The Committee shall, at the Annual General Meeting, present a report and balance sheet which will be duly certified by the auditor at, or as soon as practicable, after the meeting.

10. The Committee shall not make any modifications of these rules or decide to make any alteration in the headquarters of the club without the authority of a General Meeting.

11. All candidates for membership must be proposed and seconded by two members and submitted for election to the Committee. Any objection to a new member to be submitted to the Secretary or any member of the committee before the date of the next committee meeting.

12. The Annual Subscription shall be paid to the Treasurer at, or as close as possible, to the AGM. The subscription year will be deemed to finish at the AGM. Subscriptions received from members joining the club shall be rated as though paid at the AGM.
Juniors will be admitted to Associate Membership at a reduced fee. For the purpose of competition entry a non-club member may pay for day membership of the Club. Day membership may only be allocated a maximum of twice in any single event year.
No newly elected member shall participate in any of the privileges of the club until the subscription has been paid in full.

13. Every duly elected member shall abide by the rules and regulations of the club and also by any modifications thereof made in conformity with such rules and regulations.

14. If any member desires a matter to be brought forward at a General Meeting, the text of such matter shall be sent to the Hon Secretary at least seven clear days before the date of such a meeting.

15. At General meetings whether ordinary or extraordinary a majority of votes decides a resolution. The Chairman only having the casting vote.

16. The headquarters of the club will be "The Bulls Head" Stanton Road Ilkeston.

17. Members hold themselves in all cases of dispute or disagreement as to the interpretation of the rules and regulations of the Club to accept the decision of the Committee as final and binding.

18. In the event of a grave breach of the rules and regulations of the Club or of conduct on the part of rendering it desirable that he or she should cease to be a member, a meeting of the committee shall be convened at which such a member shall be invited to attend to hold enquiry whether a cause for expulsion has arisen or not. In the event of any member being, in the opinion of the committee, guilty of reckless driving or of misbehaviour under circumstances involving conduct unsportsman like or ungentlemanly or prejudicial to the interests of the club. The member shall be called before the Committee and failing to give a satisfactory explanation, the member may be cautioned, suspended or required to resign membership. No member shall be expelled or suspended except by a resolution supported be at least two thirds of the committee present at the enquiry.

19. Every member must be furnished with a copy of the Club Rules and Regulations on election or have access to same. However, non receipt of such a copy or access to one, shall not be deemed sufficient reason for non compliance therewith. A member should keep his or her copy carefully.

20. All members shall be liable to pay their subscriptions except when otherwise passed at an Annual General Meeting.

21. All funds shall be banked in the name of the club. Any combination of two of the Hon Treasurer, the Hon. Secretary or the Chairman shall jointly sign cheques to meet current expenditure as authorised by the committee.

22. All accounts are to be passed for payment by the committee and initialled by the Chairman before payment. Petty expenses not included.

23. The financial year of the club will expire on the thirty first of January each year.

24. Ordinary meetings of the club shall be held at intervals not exceeding fourteen days, presided over by the Chairman, Hon secretary and three Committee members. Committee meetings at which the officers and general committee only may attend be held in private at the request of the Hon. Secretary and in any case at not more than two monthly intervals.

25. The Annual General Meeting shall be held in February of each year and at least fourteen days notice of such meeting shall be given by the Hon. Secretary for the purpose of election of officials and the passing of the audited balance.

26.That discretionary powers be given under these rules to The President, Chairman and Hon. Secretary to deal with all matters of urgency connected with the club and any action so taken to be reported to the Executive Committee at its next meeting.

27. In the event of the suspension of the club's activities, the Chairman, Hon. Secretary and treasurer, for the time being shall become trustees of the club's assets. On the expiring of five years from the date of suspension of activities, the club's assets shall be realised into cash, which shall then be distributed by the trustees to such charities as shall be determined by them.
