Incredible Journeys

In this activity the students are asked to describe the journey of different people or things through imaginary or real environments. The students should use different prepositions . An example of a simple game is shown here.

Above the blackboard

Behind the chair

To the window

Past the cupboard

This activity may be developed to include the use , and signing, of the adjective. This forms an adjectival phrase.

Through the tall grass

Onto the rotting log

Around the damp stones

Into the cool water

Etc.

Adverbs may now be introduced and signed, placed before the preposition, to form adverbial phrases.

Superman's interstellar journey

Speedily under the red planet

Carefully between the dangerous asteroids

Bravely across the black hole

Stupidly into the burning sun!
