The Table of the first Section.
The skill of Armorie consisteth in
- Blazoning, wherein must be considered
- Accidents, which are both
- Tincture, which consisteth of
- Colours, which are either
- Generall, As when things are borne in their naturall
colours:
- and Speciall,
- and Furres, which consist either of
- One colour, namely white, which is the Lituits skin
or furre.
- or More then one,
- Two onely, which are either
- with blacke, as
- Black with white,
- or Blacke with Yellow,
- or without blacke, as
- Verrey, which is composed of white and blew, or of blew
and white.
- Which is Greene with Yellow, or Yellow with Greene.
- or More then two,
- Ermynytes, differing from Ermine by a red haire
added to each side of the spots.
- and Vayre, which is of all colours, except Blew and
Greene.
- and Differences, which are both
- Ancient, as Bordures of all sorts:
- And Moderne, as Files, Cressants, Mollets, Martlets,
Annulets, &c.
- and Parts, which are the
- Escocheon, wherin we must observe the
- Accidents, viz.
- Points, of which some are
- Middle, as the Fesse, Honour, and Nombrill Points.
- Remote
- Superior, Exact Middle point of ye chiefe, and the two extremes thereof, viz. the Dexter
and Sinister chiefe Points.
- and Inferior, Precise Middle Point of the Base of the Escocheon, and the two Extremes
thereof, scilt. the Dexter and Sinister Base Points.
- and Rebatements, which consist in
- Diminution, which are placed
- Reversing, which is a transposing or turning upside downe
of the whole Escocheon.
