The Table of the second Section.
x Kindes which are of
- Some one Tincture, as when a Coat-Armour consisteth of any one of the
Metals, Colours, or Furres onely.
- More Tinctures then one, wherein must be considered the
- Field, which hath Tincture
- Predominating: of which forme of bearing, there be manifold examples in and thorowout the second,
third, and fourth Sections.
- Not Predominating: whereof there are divers examples in the fifth Section.
- Charge, which is
- Proper, which are called Ordinaries, wherein note their
- Making, which consisteth of lines, wherein observe their
- Accidents, which are their
- Rightnesse, as when they are evenly carried thorowout the Field.
- Crookednes, whereof some are
- Bunched forme, as in lines Engrailed, Invecked, Waved &c.
- Cornered,
- Rect-anguled, as in Coats Embatteled, Crenelle, &c.
- Acute-anguled, as in indenting and Dancetty.
- Kindes,
- Single, which of it selfe maketh a Cheefe.
- Manifold, viz.
- Twofold, whereof are formed these Ordinaries following, viz. a Pale,
Bend, Fesse,
Gyron,
Canton,
Quarter-Pile, &c.
- More then twofold, which doe constitute a Crosse, Saltire,
Inescocheon, and Orle.
- Manner of bearing, which is
- Simple, comprehending
- One sort, wherof some are
- Single, as when a Crosse, Bend, Pale,
Pile, Fesse,
or other Ordinary is borne alone, without any other Apposition or Imposition.
- Manifold, as when more of the same kind are borne
- One upon another, as a Crosse upon a Crosse, a Saltire upon a Saltire, &c.
- One besides another, as a
- Pallet besides a Pallet.
- Bend besides 2. Cotizes.
- Pale besides 2. Endorses.
- Divers sorts borne in like manner,
- One upon another,
- Barres upon a Chevron.
- Chevron upon a Pile.
- Escocheon upon a Saltire.
- One besides another,
- Saltire besides a Chiefe.
- Escocheon besides a Crosse.
- Chevron besides a Chiefe.
- Compound, as having in them some kinde of mixture, by reason of the apposition or imposition of
Common ChargesOrdinaries.
