Thought
We will see in today’s gospel how Jesus headed resolutely for Jerusalem even though he knew that death awaited him there. It is easy to make promises and to undertake commitments but it is not always easy to be faithful. Jesus demands the same kind of unwavering commitment from those who choose to follow him.  But the Lord himself will help us to be faithful to walk resolutely towards the goals to which we have committed ourselves.  He will especially help us to follow him.  To follow him means to put our hands in his hands, our steps in his steps.  It is to take the same road and stay on it.  Jesus does promise final victory to those who stick it.  Let us go forward in bare faith, simple hope and love without sentiment.
