Parish Finance
Our beautiful Church was built in the year 2000 and we continue to pay for it. The original intention was that the parish debt would be cleared in ten years and the Church would then be consecrated. We have come a long way but, as our debt still stands at £95,000, this target may be receding. I can only appeal to everyone to take ownership of the debt and work even harder to clear. May of you are generous in your giving and I thank you for that.
Based upon the attendance figures at weekend Masses, we estimate that an extra £2 per week from each adult would still make the ten year target achievable. What else can you get for £2 per week?
Ways in which you can help:
- If you pay tax, sign up as a Gift Aid Donor. Your donation will be worth an extra 28p in the £.
- Please be faithful in paying the monthly £5 mortgage gift to pay off the interest on our loans and overdraft.
- Consider increasing your weekly or monthly offering, whether you pay by envelope or standing order.
- Lending money to the Parish, even for a short period. Any sum, no matter how small, will help to reduce overdraft and interest charges.
- Remember St Christopher’s Church when making your Last Will and Testament.
