Sixteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time (A)
Thought
We go to Church, not because we are saints, but because we are sinners; sinners who are willing to strive for something better. And God is patient with us and lenient in his judgements. So we must learn to be patient, we must be hospitable towards all that we meet. We must acknowledge the dark side of ourselves, without conceding victory to it. We must struggle on in spite of this world, confident that with God’s help, the good will finally triumph. It is through struggle that we grow. Only God has the right and the knowledge to judge. Yet God is patient and tolerant.
A big thank you to Ann and Dermott Kelly and all those who gave super entertainment performances at last Sunday’s Strawberry Tea. Thank you also to all those who worked to make it so successful and to everyone who supported the event in any way. £717 was raised for parish funds. Thank you all.
Thank you to the Church Painters I would like to extend my sincere thanks to all those who gave their time to paint the exterior Church doors and windows. May I ask for more volunteers please so that we can now do the inside. Please add your name to the list if you can help.
Eucharistic Ministers and Readers Please collect your copy of the rota for the next few months from the table in the hall.
The Annual Cycle Ride for the Staffordshire Historic Churches’ Trust will take place on Saturday 13 September. If you would like to ride or help by acting as a recorder in our church please contact Sean Keenan after
