The Brand New All New Album
From Jegsy Dodd & The Original Sinners

'Wake Up And Smell The Offy'

JEGSY DODD & THE ORIGINAL SINNERS a short biography and explanation...

Jegsy Dodd & the Original Sinners are a nucleus of Jegsy Dodd and Rob Prance [Staunch] who both grew up on the Wirral, Merseyside. Jegsy ,[Poet and humorist] knew Staunch [musician],from ' Jegsy Dodd & the sons of Harry Cross', when they were signed to Liverpool's Probe Plus label.

When the band parted in 89/90 Jegsy dropped music completely doing only the occasional stand up poetry gig , but continued to write new material. Meanwhile Staunch headed south to London and got into music production
A chance meeting [in an off license in Moreton] in early 2004 saw them to exchange phone numbers and ideas.. Jegsy brought in a collection of new poems, probably his best stuff to date, all written with a spectrum of insight, humour, and surrealist wit, which is quite improbable from the man the cashew nut head. Staunch set about writing the music, without the need to remove his trousers, whilst whistling They worked on a few tracks just for a laugh, and continued to laugh for several days , until a nurse became available to sponge both their legs down.

With the partnership now sealed they continued to work together through the summer 2004 at Staunch's 'Commercial suicide' studios in London and enjoyed the odd 'wine style' drink from time to time.

First a 6-track demo 'toss my Salad' was produced and sent out into the world and picked up airplay from 'Radio 1 DJ, Rob da Bank',the track 'Grumpy old Men' , received the biggest ever response to a track played on that show. Mr Da Bank has continued to play other tracks from the demo on his Thursday night show.

They played as a band 'live' in session at the BBC Maida vale studios for 'Radio1 ' in April, broadcast 14/4/05.
Since then they have been racing to complete the full album which is now going to press for a July release.
'Wake up and smell the Offy' will be released on their own 'Piffle Records' label, its purpose will be give you an alternative to what you might hear in the popular [shite] music charts. It's been a long time coming but some things in life are worth the wait.

Strap yourself in its going to be a bumpy ride, because this album could be the closest thing to Heaven without all the hassle of being …..dead.
