My Back Wages is a compilation of previously unreleased songs and unreleased versions of songs. The album is attributed to The Cleaners From Venus but this is not quite the case.
Martin wasn't actually thrilled at Jarmusic releasing this album as he felt there were reasons why they weren't released. It is true the sound quality isn't always wonderful, but to hard core fans of Martin's music thsi album represents a treasure trove. I personally love a great many of these songs and have badgered Martin to re record some of them. Whether he will or not remains to be seen.
If you consider yourself a real fan and you haven't bought this one yet I urge you to do so. I wouldn't be without it.
 Songs :-  Crane Drivers/Gulf War Song/Incident in a Greatcoat/Bag of Dust/Haunt Your House/Drowning Butterflies (revised by Dave Gregory)/Red Guitars and Silver Tambourines/Everytime I Go Up/You Should Have Called/Gate Crashing Oyster Park/Stay Litt/Bodecea Jones/Smash Your Watch/Arcadian Boys (version)/Clara Bow/Princess of Suburbia/Finding My Own Way Home

Incidentally :- Bodecea Jones was to have been on The Spirit Cage and Stay Litt was turned down by Andy Partridge for The Greatest Living Englishman. Many of the tracks come from a cassette which was a Christmas present for Irwin Chusid of WFMU Radio. Nobody knows who leaked it to Joachim.......... (or do they?)
