Who Are The Original Sinners Anyway?

Here is some background on the musicians who contributed to the making of 'WAKE UP AND SMELL THE OFFY'

ANDY GIBSON:- Originally from 'New York' Andy is primarily a guitar player but can turn his hand to any instrument you give him, on 'OFFY' he plays the Arabic Lute, and Acoustic guitar on 'All I ever wanted was you'. Andy is also a very tight drummer and his Electric guitar playing is highly original.
His musical taste is very eclectic from middle eastern, roots to funk groove. He has just written and recorded his own album with 'Roots Manoeuvre' singer 'Ricky Rankin'.[due out soon]. Andy has played in bands with 'Staunch' on and off for over the last 15 years and would be first choice for for anyone wanting to get an original sound on their album, plus he's a great guy and makes us all feel good when he plays,. he is also very good at doing voice overs. CAROL BUSHELL:- Carol is a Londoner but now lives in Manchester with her DJ husband 'Richard '[who is a top bloke by the way], and have have a whole floor of their house lined wall to wall racks of vinyl with' decks' in every room, so there is no musical style these guys dont know about. Carol's early influences were the bands of the London 'punk' scene, especially the 'Clash' [likewise Jegsy], Carol has pitch perfect tuning and arranges all the backing harmonies that you hear on 'OFFY', she is also a brilliant keyboard player from classical to House styles, your most likely to find Carol dancing at 'Manumission' Ibiza or' DJ Derek' at the 'Big Chill'. She has recently introduced us to the 'Guilty Pleasures' album and for that alone she has secured her place in Heaven.

PATMO SHEERAN:- The Belfast lad, the first thing you realize when you meet Patmo is that nothing is a problem, he's been doing this stuff for years and takes it all in his stride. A great guitarist and veteran of many 'John Peel 'session , he played with Belfast band 'Big Self' with a couple of album releases, and also writes and performs with 'John Wayne Army'. Patmo puts the country style playing into 'All I ever wanted was you', and wrote one of Staunch's favourite songs 'Big Guitar' on an album by 'The Stoned Rangers' it's a classic. Patmo also plays regular with various artistes on the London Jazz scene, his musical genius has become invaluable to the 'Live' arrangements for 'OFFY' and he also has a lovely old '73 Telecaster

BOBBY 'sox' DEMERS :- Although Bobby didn't play on 'OFFY' we now sadly wish he had, but we didn't meet him 'till the 'Radio 1 ' session. Bobby is a 'Native' Canadian from Toronto, he plays a Roland electronic Drum kit and gets all the sounds we need 'live' with an impressive sense of timing , Bobby has his own studio where we rehearsed intensively for the 'Radio 1' session in April . He can also play Guitar, Bass. and keyboards, and is an electronic 'whiz' with sampling and sequencing . He has contributed to many albums including 'Asian Dub Foundation' and we will be rehearsing at his studio for 'Sinners' live concerts in the near future. His favourite album is 'Sgt Peppers' so he was able to understand 'Jegsy's accent right away, [even though it is from the Wirral].

BRIAN TOWELL :- Brian loves and plays 'Jazz' and is the proud owner of a 1940's Gibson guitar in-fact he's got a few Gibsons and his dog is called 'Gibson' thats how much they mean to him. As well as playing on 'OFFY' Brian designed the cover Artwork for the album and really helped sort out technical problems with the CD pressing plant when we didn't understand what the hell they were talking about , [cheers Brian], well you can hear his guitar playing on 'The day the world stopped working' and he knows some impossible Jazz chords.

MICK 'percy' Dalton:- Mick is really a brilliant 'Blues' guitarist and a proper 'Barra' boy from London's east end, but we asked him to do a Harmonica solo on 'All I ever wanted was you' and that really makes that track stand out. He's been a good mate of Staunch for over 10 years. He will regularly pull his Harmonica out of his back pocket in the middle of traffic jams and cheers up the queue at the bus stop on a wet monday morning. Percy we salute you!

ARMIN LUTHI ;- A man of few words , [yeah right], but luckily all of his words are on the intro to 'Pete Marsh' He's from London and makes great compilation CD'S,and specialise's in 'Hawian PUNK '
