The final (TV) 'flashback' of Chapter 1, shows us the moves towards nuclear disarmament that were made during the time of the Lover's youth between East and West (Reagan and Gorbachov era). The song may sound perhaps a little cynical but it serves to remind us that often people are duped into a false sense of security by their leaders and that war and conflict between peoples is never far away. It is therefore a warning that we must not become complacent because the effects of war are devastating, especially to the children...
