
Two Flags
This scene is a warning preparing us for what is about to happen - Nancy and her Lover's impending breakup and separation. The song draws a parallel between divisions and disunity amongst people groups within nations and then the divisions that exist between Nancy and her Lover. The phrase "but high on a hill where the view is clear" encourages them both to climb up above the clouds to the top of the hill where the view is much clearer, so that they can perhaps begin to see and understand what their lives are really all about. Of course, the climb will require sacrifice but it will reward those who see it through to the summit...
