- Butterfly Island is a collection of songs that link up to tell
a musical story. It is the brain-child of UK musician, writer and producer Paul Lane, who
originally founded this project in October 1996.
- In November of that same year he was joined by rhythm guitarist Carl Anglin. Paul says," Carl was a Black Gospel Preacher and a fine guitarist (a la George Benson). I was amazed how he found the time to rehearse with me knowing his busy schedule. I remember times when he would leave my studio in the early hours of the morning for his home (a 30 mile trip). He never complained. His involvement, committment and encouragement continued until he became desperately ill in the Spring of 1999. He died after a brief battle with cancer at the age of 37. I feel indebted to him and honoured that I knew him. I have pressed on with this project, going where it takes me in memory of Carl, knowing this is what he would have wanted..."
- There is a spiritual law of the Universe that dictates that whatever you sow, you will also reap. So, if you sow sparingly in this Life, then you will also reap sparingly. Knowing this to be true, I am determined to give this project my best in the hope that somehow we can make a difference in the lives of those who listen to our music wherever they may be...
