A Brief History

The Runes were hatched down on Smithys poultry farm - the smell of chicken litter and the sound of eggs hitting the bottom of the broiler cages was an inspiration to the young song writing team of Brookes,Croome and Kricka.

So was born 'countrypolitan farmrock'.

Soon they had escaped the mudanity of Holbrook high school hops and were tripping the light fantastic down at the Bakers Arms ,Harkstead where they soon gained a reputation for quickfire banter and slick arrangements of popular tunes.

And so a raft of self penned ditties followed as the boys really proved they were 'back in town'.Greed , Beautiful and Hole were highlights, the latter a tribute to green green grass of home.

Recordings included the classic CD Greed whacked down at Springvale in April 2004 and the prophetic So Shared which begun the bands relationship with the legend that is Mr Steve Tsoi at Soundmagic in deepest darkest Essex.

Oh and Sgt Stinge are perhaps their finest work and again Mr Tsoi was at the helm helping them to boldly go .......

More recently they have been priveliged enough to go organic down at Jimmys farm and have attracted a raft of new followers through their prophetic new single OH ! a tribute to the sensation of waking up naked with just your wellies on in a field full of sheep down on  Shotley marshes.

Highlights of their performing career  include third place in the prestigious "futuristic music of Needham Market competition" and culminating in a recent gig at the Halfmoon Putney(see news page) where they headlined and took the place by storm.

No seriously folks you aint seen nothing yet so hurry on down to the Ipswich Music day on Sunday 2nd July at 12 noon on stage one for the performance of a lifetime.
