Web Page Design

Here at computer solutions you can be assured that your site will be made to a very high quality. Unlike many other web design companies, we won't use pre-designed templates where your information would be placed into a 'ready made' website, with a few new graphics. Your site will designed from scratch and will have the following properties amongst many:

  •  Quality graphics that load quickly and are custom designed.
  •  Unique design that will scale to any web viewing screen resolution.
  •  Dynamic feel. Meaning that the website will be interactive, not mundane.
  •  Clear and intuitive to use, while staying unique to your company.
  •  A company logo can be included in the deal for a small extra cost.
  •  Above all, visitors will feel at home and not be pushed away.

All preliminary consultations are free. We will take what you want a get back to you with a quote and prospective design based on the information you gave us. Upon your decision to go ahead, we will begin creating your new website!

Comparing our prices with other web design companies, you may notice that we are much cheaper. In this world we are used to the phrase 'You get what you pay for'. In our case, we're looking for clients that will benefit from these great prices, while we build up our portfolio and client base. For the quality we are almost certain that we won't be beaten, find a cheaper option with better quality and we'll review our quote.

Prices

From our past experience with customers, set prices don't work. There are so many options with websites, ranging from Flash animation to FrontPage extensions and javascript. Below is a rough pricing structure, but the pricing will be unique to you, that way you get charged for what you get.

Company Logo                                                               £50 - £300

One paged site.                                                               £150 - £250
A one page site would usually be a one page advert for your company, where there isn't any feedback to you through the site. It just serves to put across information such as phone numbers, what you do and how to get more information etc.. The price includes the site's graphics and extends to a new company logo (large corporate logos cost more by negotiation).

Small custom designed site.                                       £250 - £400
A small site usually means a site with 4-6 pages; an online brochure with an interactive link between you and your customers. Custom graphics provide a unique image that puts across the professional image of your company. Small flash animations are cheaply added.

Medium-sized custom designed site.                       £400 - £1500

A medium sized site can be 5-15 pages for a serious company (before you get to a full database backed site with countless amounts of pages that need to constantly updated, we leave that to the companies that charge tens of thousands). Flash, Frontpage extensions and simple cgi-scripts come under the lower prices of this band. The higher band is for a site with many pages that require a great deal of work to implement, including a great deal of custom graphics.

Constant updates are also available for a cost that is also variable (e.g. £50 per text change on 4-6 pages, including up to 5 small image changes). For a small amount extra (per hour) we can train you up to be able to update your own website from the final version we hand over to you.

All websites include search engine registration and domain registration. You will pay for the web space with your desired web space provider (we can do it all for you, included in the price. Excluding cost of registration).

The cost will ultimately depend on the amount of work put in. We will be constantly in touch with you so changes can happen throughout the process of web design. Try us!

What follows is an account that may help you when deciding whether or not you need a website.

What is the Internet?

To your customers, the Internet is a global network of computers with millions of users all over the world. From their own computer they can communicate with other users, send and receive text, pictures, graphics, sounds and moving images - at the cost of a local phone call.

All they need is a computer, a phone line, a modem to connect the two together, software, and an account with an Internet Service Provider (ISP) who will enable you to tap into this global network. As the business you will need your isp to host your website, for your customers to view your site, aswell as give you access to the net (E-mail, www etc..)

Business uses

If your business is on the Internet, you can utilize the following:

E-mail (electronic mail) allows you to send and receive messages and data worldwide quickly and cheaply.

The World Wide Web gives you user friendly access to pages of business information. A collection of pages is called a Web site and your own customized Web site would let you promote and sell your products and services to the world.

Business benefits

Together these facilities offer your business the opportunity to:

  • communicate, share information and do business with actual and potential customers; >
  • market and sell your products, accept orders and inquiries 24 hours a day automatically;
  • find new markets in the worldwide marketplace;
  • build up customer contacts and create client databases;
  • distribute products and services that can be converted into electronic form rapidly and easily;
  • access business data from all over the world such as research analysis and computer software, often free of charge;
  • search out new ideas, technical support, product and market information;
  • source and purchase goods, help or advice;
  • compete with the large companies - on the Internet no one need know if you are a multinational or a home based business.
  • get feedback in non-paper form, so you are more likely to get the feedback and it comes about much quicker.

The World Wide Web

Having your own Web site on the Internet lets you market your business and sell your products or services on-line, thus your sales department is mostly contained within the electronic world of the web and your physical department need only be one admin worker, receiving the orders etc..

Customers can browse your catalogue, e-mail inquiries to your admin worker, place electronic orders and, increasingly, pay with credit cards. It's a real opportunity for smaller businesses to compete, offering:

  • low operating costs;
  • the ability to do business round the clock;
  • the chance to foster better customer relationships.

A Web site must be kept up to date if it is to be of any use. The good thing is that they are easy to maintain and that, while a brochure will soon go out of date, a well maintained site won't. The online version of your brochure, which is what your site will effectively be, can be considered to be an interactive version of your paper brochure, catching the eye much more than it's counterpart.
