This was an exceptionally tame bird, frequently coming of the reedbeds to feed out in the open.
Kefar Ruppin is an area of Fish-ponds and Reservoirs near the Jordanian border. This photograph was just one of the highlights of a superb day, the fish ponds in particular were full of exciting species such as Pied and White-breasted Kingfisher, Pygmy Cormorant, Egrets, Night Herons, Storks.
