Peter Jones Wildlife Photographs

Equipment:

I started my photography using a very reliable system of a Pentax P-30T camera with a Sigma 400mm f5.6 telephoto lens. This system got me excellent results for several years until it was stolen from the boot of my car.

I have now replaced my system with a Canon EOS5 QD, and a Sigma 400mm f5.6 APO Telemacro lens.

This new system has several features that are proving invaluable for photographing wildlife including a Motor Drive, Continuous exposures, Auto Focus and Spot metering. In addition, the 400mm lens has a macro feature which is enabling me to get good results of Butterflies and Dragonflies.

I use Fuji 200 ASA film, or 400 ASA in Dull, Wintry conditions. This film gives me the most natural coloured results.

In addition, I have a Kowa TSN821 telscope with 32x wide angle eyepiece and a 60x Eyepiece, plus a pair of Leica Trinovid 8x42 Binoculars to help me find the wildlife.
