Day Skipper practical.
Some previous boating experience may be useful but is not essential
Spend 5 days on board and the experience and excitement of skippering a
Nelson Motor cruiser.
The aim of the course is to teach the art of basic navigation and to explain
the practical aspects of pilotage, chart work, navigation, safety at sea, close
quarters boat handling and engine maintenance. The course also includes a
passage at night you will visit different marinas on the Welsh and Irish Coast
and experience the thrill afloat .
Your abilities after the course will enable you to skipper a motor cruiser in
familiar tidal waters.
The Day Skipper certificate will provide an ICC automatically. International
Certificate of Competence is required by most European Countries before you can
charter or skipper in their waters.
Theory - If you wish to do some reading prior to a course, we can loan you a
study pack and ‘Day Skipper Shore based Course Notes (ref: DS11).We also offer
a 5 day Skipper Theory Course covering knowledge of navigation and
seamanship .
RYA Certificate granted (no examination involved).
