Van Gogh's Bedroom
The Other End

Well here it is! Was it what you were expecting? It's quite plain really, with only a few basic items. There are a few objects to ponder over though: In the corner at the foot of the bed, is an ottoman, perhaps he stored blankets or clothing in it. On the top is a candle featured in a few still life studies. In front of the vase is a pipe, again featured in several of his paintings but the vase itself was of course the vase he used for his painting of the Sunflowers.

The self portrait on the wall shows Van Gogh with his ear bandaged and was in fact painted about six months before his bedroom scene, so it's quite plausible that he could have hung it on his own wall. A few empty frames lean against the walls and an easel stands in the middle. The canvas is at the precise position that I used as my viewpoint on the normal view of Van Gogh's Bedroom.

The view that you are looking at now is actually set from the mirror to the left of the green shutters. If you look at the chair to the right of this view, you will notice a wooden box with the name Vincent on it, click here to reveal the next surprise!
