Phil's radio partner: We spoke with Andrea from the band and we asked about getting
the deal with David Foster, and what's the Michael Jackson connection here?
Phil(impersonating MJ): Well, we both got little monkeys...
Phil's partner: No, not him - Andrea.
Phil: Oh her.
Andrea: Um, we were in America, basically, shopping for a record deal and we hit
New York on the last few days that we were in America and we were just around the corner
from the hit factory, where David and Michael were recording. And, um, our manager, John
Hughes, said, "look, let's just go in and see if we can get in. So we basically
gate-crashed the session in the hit factory. Uh, we dressed up. We had all our instruments
with us and arrived in and said you know, "oh, we're suppose to meet David
Foster" and sat in the lobby and David came out and he met us.
Barry Bisil: I asked Andrea about how they settled on the title of their new album.
Andrea: It's...actually, it's from one of the songs on the CD called 'Queen of
Hollywood' and the song is about a girl who feels that there's something in her, that
there's a something more, that she's got to go somewhere else and you know, she read it in
her stars that there's something more. So she's going to be the Queen of Hollywood. And
it's kind of a tragic tale, as a lot of them are. But there's a line in it that I wrote
that is 'and our friends, they talk on corners. They could never comprehend' because she
was different you know. And then, just Talk On Corners had a certain ring to it. So we
gave that the...we made that the name of the CD.
