the Corrs Live
November 19 Copenhagen Denmark

Exclusive review by Robert Lutczyk

Wow!! What a magic night, I just have to share this with some fellow Corrs fans. A good piece of advice, if they are playing somewhere near you SEE THEM and if they are not playing near you, GO AND SEE THEM wherever they play because you don't want to miss out on this! I saw them in Copenhagen in a quite small hall called Vega, the hall took 1000 people and it seemed to be full. Now, for those of you who don't know Copenhagen, it is the capital of Denmark and since I'm from Sweden I had to go there by train-boat-bus-bus-bus but it was sure worth it!!

Now to the concert, we arrived at the hall an hour before they were supposed to go on and stood in the front row, there was no opening act and the suspense of the crowd grew with each passing second.

Suddenly the lights went off and in the darkness, I could see Sharon coming out on the stage and picking up her violin, a single spotlight focused on her and she started playing. In that moment I just froze! What a beautifull sound!! Instead of using her acoustic violin with a pickup she played on a black electric one (a Barcus Berry) and the sound was just stunning, very clear and natural but still unbelievably powerful. The crowd went wild and Sharon showed us just how skilled she is with her instrument. After a while the whole stage lit up and there they all were playing "When he's not around". My first impression was how good they sounded, very tight, very well mixed and overall just great! This was even better than their live-performances that I've seen on TV. As usual the girls looked stunning and judging by the reaction of the female section of the audience Jim wasn't to bad either. The stage-outfits are simple but deadly effective, see for yourselves at the pictures I took during the show. After two or three songs Andrea welcomed us in Danish (very nice accent) and they all seemed to have really fun on stage. Andrea was singing like a goddess dancing and jumping around the stage while Sharon was playing the violin very beautifully and moving very sensually doing it. Jim was doing his thing playing the guitar and the synth and really did a great job. It was a bit hard to spot Caroline behind the drums but she came forward to play the Bodhran and she was spectacular. The second guitarist, a bald fellow (is this Anto Drennan??), was just great , he played some really cool stuff on his telecaster and I can just wish to be as good as him. The crowd was really enthusiastic, everbody was dancing, shouting and clapping hands the whole time and it's impossible to describe the atmosphere during the show.

They seemed a bit suprised and very happy about the reaction they got from the crowd Andrea thanked the audience after each and every song. They played a total of 19 songs and here's the setlist:

Intro
Hopelyssly Addicted
Forgiven not Forgotten
What Can I Do
Joy of Life

Extended version of Haste to the Wedding where Andrea presented the band and said goodbye

The time just flew by and I was shocked when I looked at my watch and realised that over an hour and a half had passed. After the show the stageworkers started to pack the equipment and I asked one of them if he could get me Andreas setlist which she had left on stage by her microphone and he COULD!! This was just a perfect night and the best was still to come! When we arrived at the concerthall we noticed that the tourbuss was standing at the side of the hall and after the show we decided to hang around and see what happend. We really didn't expect to meet them but our boat wasn't leaving for another hour so we really didn't have anything better to do. After just fifteen minutes the sidedoor opened and there they were! They noticed the waiting fans (there were 8 or 9 of us) and instead of rushing of to the bus they went back in into the hall and invited us along! I got my setlist signed by the whole band and took some photos as well. They were very happy about the gig and were incredibly friendly ,are these guys down to earth or what?!!! After a while they had to go (to catch some sleep) and we all said goodbye and thanked them again for a wonderful evening. Since I managed to sneak in my camera to the show I took some great photos, they aren't high quality but it's live and it's The Corrs so they are great anyway. You can see the photos and some other things on "The Corrs Corner" ,my homepage dedicated to the Corrs. You'll find it on www.efd.lth.se/~d96rl . I hope that everbody will have the chance to see them live and experience the special atmosphere during a Corrs concert. I've been to many live shows including big names like Rolling Stones and Aerosmith but The Corrs are by far the best live performers T've ever seen.

Hope to get some feedback on this
