RUNAWAY SUCCESS: The Corrs have sold two million albums, but the huge costs involved means
all the cash went to their record company.

POP sensations The Corrs admit they're not in the money - despite selling a whopping
TWO MILLION albums worldwide!
The family group spent a gruelling 18 months promoting their debut album Forgiven Not
Forgotten, but their huge earnings were eaten up by massive expenses.
Sharon told the Sunday World: "The reality is that we spent an awful lot of
money on the first album. We employed top American producers like David Foster, who has
worked with the likes of Michael Jackson and En Vogue, and he doesn't come cheap.
"We recorded it in Malibu and then went on tour with Celine Dion and Michael Bolton.
The amount of money it takes to tour on that scale is enormous.
"Up until now the record company has been recouping it's expenditure and we've
only just started to get some money from the album after three years.
"I am aware that people at home probably think we're millionaires. I would have
thought that if somebody had sold two million albums they'd be millionaires. But it
depends on how much money you spend - and we spent a lot."
However with the release of their new album Talk On Corners, The Corrs are now poised to
reap the rich rewards of success on a global scale.
Sharon said "Now we can start making money because we didn't spend as much on this
album and all the groundwork has been done."
The lucrative UK market is also opening up to the Corrs for the first time.
She said: "I think the last time round we were coming out of techno and getting into
bands like Oasis and Blur.
"This time I think we'll have a better chance in Britain and already Talk On
Corners is getting great reviews there."
The Corrs have enjoyed an amazing lifestyle since they hit the big time, making a guest
appearance on Beverly Hills 90210 and mixing with the rich and famous.
Sharon told how one night they found themselves sharing a table in a restaurant with
Warren Beatty and Sean Penn.
She said: "I was thinking this is unbelievable, here we are - four people from
Dundalk - and Warren Beatty is sitting beside me talking about being a vegetarian!"
Sharon also recalled meeting heart-throb actor Kevin Costner at a party in Malibu.
"David Hasselhoff from Baywatch was there aswell . Kevin Costner walked into the room
and he shook hands with us.
"I think he's gorgeous and he looked more stunning that night than I've ever seen
him. Later I said to Caroline, who had earlier shaken hands with him, 'isn't this amazing
Kevin Costner is here'.
"Caroline looked at me and said, 'Is he?'. She had shaken hands with him, but hadn't
recognised him!"
Andrea Corr, meanwhile, is set to continue her association with the movie world.
After playing one of Jimmy Rabittes sisters in The Commitments and Juan Peron's mistress
in Evita, where she got ejected from the bed by Madonna, she is to feature in a Warner
Bros animated feature film Quest for Camelot.
Andrea provides the heroines singing voice and the animated character has been modelled
on her looks.
