AS Britpop writhes in its death throws another trend is set to rule the pop world -
Celtpop.
You do not need many bands to start a trend and you could certainly make a case for
Celtpop out of Enya, Altan, Clannad and the truely woeful Kelly Family (if you haven't
heard of them, don't ask).
But leading this quiet revolution are The Corrs, possibly the worlds least rock'n'roll
band.
They are whoesomely attractive, talented, tasteful and completely inoffensive.
So it came as something of a surprise when Andrea Corr recently revealed - gasp - she had
done drugs and in her own words, was "out there".
Such revelations usually provoke a newspaper frenzy, a rapid retraction and a career
threatening dive in popularity.
Just think of the guy out of East 17 who said there was nothing wrong with taking Ecstacy.
But what happened when Andrea dropped this bombshell?
Nothing
And that is hardly surprising. Just look at her and you can see no one would ever believe
it...
