British Napoleonic
This superb Napoleonic series features British and French infantry, cavalry and personality figures of the period 1808-1815.
"The Peninsular Campaign (1808-1813) was a long, gruelling struggle for all the combatants. Britain and France and their allies fought a series of great battles that saw the devastation of war rage across Spain and Portugal. Both sides experienced victory and defeat before the British eventually triumphed in 1813."
Wellington's often quoted description of the British Army as the "Scum of the Earth" was both damning and exaggeration in almost equal parts.
True the army's ranks were filled with the scrapings of the Magistrates' courts - debtors... vagabonds... petty criminals. But they were also filled with honest tradesmen... runaway apprentices... unemployed weavers and disaffected farm labourers. All of them ready to "take the King's shilling."
Out of these unlikely and disparate elements Wellington forged a professional army that fought and defeated Napoleons' finest - from Salamanca to Waterloo.

From the Revolution to the Civil War... Remember the Alamo
In January 1836 William Travis was given command of the regulars and James Bowie the volunteers based at San Antonio de Bexar. Gen Santa Anna and 7000 Mexican troops arrived back in San Antonio on the 23rd February 1836. About 200 Texans took refuge in the fortified grounds of the Alamo. Bowie was taken ill with typhoid so Travis took over the control of the fortress. Samual Houston signed the declaration of Texas independence on the 2nd March 1836 General Santa Anna now became determined to take the Alamo. He ordered the shelling of the fortress but the Texans refused to surrender. On the 6th March the Mexicans stormed the fortress. During the battle 189 Texans were killed including Bowie, Travis and Davy Crockett. Approximately 1500 Mexicans died during the fighting.

King & Country have produced a range of connoisseur painted redcoats and colonials that accurately recreate in miniature the bloody battles that led to the birth of a new nation. Bunker Hill... Lexington... Saratoga... Yorktown. So follow the drum, unfurl the flag and begin your Revolution today.
The officers and men of the 23rd Royal Welch Fusiliers and 10th Royal Lincolnshire Regt. fought for King George III to quell the American rebel armies. For many native Americans, the war that erupted between the whitemen in 1776 was a welcome respite. Their own battles with the European settlers had seen a constant erosion of their tribal lands, hunting grounds and way of life. Some tribes, however, forged alliances with the Forces of the Crown, in the forlorn hope of improving their situation.
