Musicians were invited to take part in the first Eccleshall Buskers Festival which took place on the High Street in Eccleshall, Staffs town centre between 10am and 2pm on Saturday 28th July 2007.

The competition was open to any and all musical instrumentalists, professional, amateur or student in fact anyone who would like to hone his or her skills playing to a live audience.

The buskers who entered were free to collect for their busking and could have won one of the four cash prizes, £200 for the winner, with three runners up prizes of £50, £25 and £25.

Pitches along the High Street were allocated amongst the other entertainment provided by the Eccleshall Business Focus Group to attract children and adults to the town's big day. There is also a Farmers Market on from 9am until 1pm which always draws a crowd.

The event is part of a wider days activities to proclaim that Eccleshall is Back in Business following an extended period of road works etc.
