The modern Eccleshall
Festivals began in 1978 with a Victorian Street market and various
events and has continued with this successful formula since then.
The 2008 Festival stretched
over 15 days and included not only a street market but over twenty
events organised by local clubs and organisations. |

Eccleshall has over 250
businesses and over sixty organisations and clubs many of whom take part
in the financing or organising of the Festival. |
|
The weather always plays
a large part in the success of any outdoor event and with good weather
the Street market always draws a large crowd. Even when umbrellas are
required many folks turn out to support the event.

Fancy Dress is a vital
part of the Street Market and it allows folks to take off the suit and
tie and dress in something which stands out .
For many years the Street Market was a
Victorian themed market.
