            Prayer Tales from the Hasidim

In the last century, a tourist from America paid a visit
to a renowned Polish rabbi, Hofetz Chaim
He was astonished to see that the rabbi’s home
was only a simple room filled with books,
Plus a table & a bench.
"Rabbi," asked the tourist, "where is your furniture?".
"where is yours?" replied Hofetz Chaim.
"Mine?" asked the puzzled American. "But I’m only passing through."
"So am I," said the rabbi.

Our Parish Prayer

God Our Father, give us the grace to go about our tasks in a spirit of eagerness and charity. Grant that we may have the calmness of mind and steadiness of purpose, so that we may do your will in this short life, and obtain happiness in the world to come. We ask this through Christ Our Lord. Amen.
