Today we welcome Mr David Songer from Maldon,
who will lead our morning service.

 

Linda’s Birthday. We will be holding "Open House" at Maldon Methodist Church Hall from 10am till 1.30pm on 5th December to celebrate Linda’s 60th birthday. Refreshments, cakes and a buffet lunch (from 11.30am till 1.30pm) will be provided. Everyone is invited. No gifts please, if you wish to make a donation it will be for a children's charity yet to be decided. Thank you.

Shoebox Thank You. Thank you to everyone who has contributed in any way towards the Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Appeal. This year, as a church + some friends, we have sent 34 shoeboxes to children in Kyrgyzstan on the borders with China. Each one of those boxes will be received with joy and delight and words cannot begin to describe the difference it could me to each child. Thank you very, very much. Circuit News. Our new superintendent, Revd Vivienne Gasteen, wants us all to be aware of what’s happening throughout our circuit. If you didn’t receive an information sheet last week please ask for one today. It is planned to issue updates twice a year. Our stewards would like to know if you find this information helpful, so please let them have your comments.

Ministry of Film. The next screening is on Saturday 28th November and the film will start at 7.45p.m We are unable to advertise the forthcoming film but for more information and offers of help, please call 01245 325234.

Handel’s Messiah. The Southend Bach Choir, together with the Essex Concert Orchestra, will perform Handel’s Messiah on Saturday 28th November, starting at 7.30p.m. at St Margaret’s Church, Lime Avenue, Leigh-on-Sea. Tickets cost £8 (concessions £7). Please contact Margaret Partridge on 320048 or Sheila Jenkins on 321739 for tickets or more details.

Toy Service. Our annual Methodist/Anglican Toy Service will be on 6th December at 10.30a.m. Donated toys will go to Chelmsford Women’s Refuge and Chelmsford Prison.

Santa Train. 6th December. Come and join the carollers up and down the branch line in the afternoon.

Light up a Life. This annual service will be at 4.30p.m. on 6th December in this church, with a procession to the bandstand in Queen Elizabeth Square.

Thurs 26th Nov 10.00a.m. Anglican led shared service of Holy Communion, followed by coffee in the meeting room.

Tues 1st Dec Joint Church Trip to Dickens’ House and Dr Johnson’s House.

Sat 12th Dec 11.30a.m. to 1.30p.m. Prayer Café in this church.
