This is the next one.
The old country inn

Wouldn't you just love to live in a house like this?

I reckon that this will be a journey of discovery for me, check out that detailing!
Okay then, lets have a little ponder before we start this one shall we?
She sure looks impressive.  4 pages of plans, no less.  Lots of intricate detailing.  All of the black beams have to be cut out so I have bought an extra 12 doz (That's 144 for those of you in old money) fret saw blades.
My initial pondering is the size.  On paper she is about 2 feet long and a foot or so high. As I will be building it to go in my garden I may just scale up at a ratio of 1.5:1or maybe 2:1
Secondly, the slates on the roof and the brick work.  I have got paper with this detail on so I may have a go at sticking this on and then applying a clear varnish to seal it.  Discolouration may be a factor here so I will do a test panel and see what happens.  I know that there are products about which will be more realistic and I am sure that when the time is right the correct material will come my way.

Here we go then.
KISS  is the name of the game.  For the uninitiated it stands for

K eep  I S imple  S tupid.

No real problems here in cutting out and gluing the basic structure together.  Because it is going to be model as opposed to a Working Dolls House I did not feel the need to put in all of the internal walls.

To give you an idea of the exact scale of things here is a 12 inch ruler stood against the front.

The beams and supports marked up on 4mm ply.
This shot was taken prior to a most amazing thought that struck me like a thunderbolt from beyond.....(Beyond what I do not know...) Read on...
Having spent a lot of time cutting out the facia overlays I had a thought, why not use real wood?  So then, what do you think?  Far better eh?
I just need to master the art of making the windows then I will be on my way.
7 windows on the front and not two the same....YET!

And here it is, finished and located
