The
Aberlour Childcare Trust has kindly issued us with these instructions for you to
apply for your Aberlour Orphanage Records.
Please bare in mind, when you apply, that they are a charity with limited
resources so it may well take a few weeks.
We would ask that
anyone who wishes to access their records should put their
request in writing to Mary Cochrane at Aberlour Child Care Trust, 36 Park
Terrace, Stirling FK8 2JR.
On receipt of this request one of the Governors of Aberlour will search
through the Admission Book and Index Cards to see when the person moved into
and subsequently moved out of the Orphanage.
The Governor will then visit the Archives which are securely stored with the
Council Archivist and try to find the relevant records.
The enquirer will then receive a letter with copies of any reports and
letters relevant to the enquirers time in the Orphanage and if possible a
photo from one of the yearbooks from their time at Aberlour Orphanage.
If no records are found the enquirer will be informed in writing.
Please note that the search may take some weeks to complete depending on the
current volume of enquiries.
It there are any particular issues that the enquirer then wishes to discuss
they should then be put in writing to the Director of Children's and Family
Services at Aberlour Child Care Trust, 36 Park Terrace, Stirling FK8 2JR and
they may be invited to meet an appropriate person from Aberlour Child Care
Trust to discuss these issues.
When you apply for your records tell them that you got these instructions from
the Reunion website.
