  The Leonard family lived in

   Gorton, Manchester.      Thomas LEONARD and his wife Jane WILSON,

married in 1906 when Jane was 22 and he was 25.

Thomas died aged 45, in 1925, he left behind six children . Robert and Edna, the eldest, left school aged 14, Robert ended up in the

Merchant Navy, [the suit gives a clue as to his

ambition,] Edna was a

milliner, a common trade in the area of Gorton.

Mary, b.1916 and Hilda, (my mother) b.1918, were

not in this photo.

His wife, Mary J. from Salford, Manchester.

All six children were born in

Gorton.
