Keep it simple It's not just people who can make good subjects for whimsical photographs. Here, a donkey's alert ears poking above the sides of a road trailer make a gently humourous image. This picture won't have people splitting their sides with laughter, but it does have the capacity to raise a quiet smile. The viewer feels an immediate sympathy for the donkey who can only hear what is going on around him while being just too short to see over the sides of the trailer. The rectangular shapes of the trailer and the wall provide the simplest possible setting for those great big pointed ears, and enable a very straighforward yet ballanced composition.
