Be obvious
Children are at their most relaxed on a beach in the sunshine,
and the seaside can be a great hunting ground for the photographer.
The beach is one of those places where it is best to be obvious
- let people see you and your cameras. Let them see that you
are there to record the scene - just a harmless snapper. If you
try to hide and you are spotted taking pictures, you will appear
furtive and suspicious.
You can be pretty sure that if
you point your camera at a group of children like this, the parents
will be watching you. That's alright, talk to the parents and
tell them what you are doing. Do ask permission! Get them on
your side.
