    You will nearly always get some warning that a shot like this is likely to develop. The horse and cart was seen approaching followed by a small group of children. It was obvious that a picture might be in the offing so the camera was slipped out from under my jacket as the troupe passed by. When one of the boys made a dive for the back of the cart and climbed aboard the picture was taken.

    It was gratifying that the kids hardly noticed me - a stranger in a remote desert town and were far more interested in the horse and cart. But I suspect that was partly due to not having cameras in full view as the group passed by.
