Aims of the Club:

The Club was formed in 1993, by a number of local independent detectorists who's aims were to:

Promote fellowship between fellow detectorists

Develop, encourage and provide facilities for metal detecting activities.

Facilitate a spirit of co-operation and understanding between detectorists  and the Museum Services, Archaeologists, Historical and Research Societies

Show the general public that followers of the hobby, do so in a professional and responsible      manner.

The club has run a full and varied programme over the years with the arrangements for the year 2001 still of a very high standard. We are currently preparing the programme for the year 2002.

Our programmes include:

Activities

Other activities include managing a Free Recovery Service where members are on call to assist Members of the Public, Farmers and Landowners in finding lost items i.e.  Jewellery and Farming implements.

The Club supports "Kent Air Ambulance" and to date we have raised over £3000 for this excellent cause.

Finally it is important to state that this Club fully supports the Treasure Act of 1996 "Code of Practice", and the Voluntary Finds Recording Scheme. To this end we are members of the NCMD SR and the Kent Archaeological and Detector Liaison Group (KADLG)
