Two views of the Waterloo Dock Warehouse, now converted into luxury apartments on the east side with newly built homes on the "Island" opposite and to the north. The site was the former B & I Line's lift on lift off container terminal using Victoria Dock to the west of the new buildings, with part of the dock filled in for container stacking area. To the left of the right hand picture the B & I Terminal building, now partly demolished is still visible as well as the clock tower at the former river entrance to Salisbury Dock.

As you travel along Regent Road (the dock road) between Stanley Dock bridge and Huskisson Dock the above names can be seen set within the dock wall, dating back to 1848 when that stretch of docks were opened.

 

     

Three 2004 views of the former south docks area, now a thriving business park for local industries. Left, looking over the roof tops of the former Harrington dock transit sheds towards the Tranmere Oil terminal, still visible but not operational are the crane hoists used for delivering cargo from the upper floors. Centre, on the site of the old Herculaneum docks,  Jaguar House and the river view apartments, Right, on the site of the former Cheshire Lines Committee Brunswick railway yard, small business units, car showrooms alongside the main road between the City and Aigburth. The former CLC railway is now part of Merseyrail, including the recently opened Brunswick Station, pictured below.

December 2005, The changing face of Princes Dock, the multi-storey car park completed and the lower levels of the "Malmaison" hotel are visible, at the north end the apartment tower blocks start to dominate the waterfront skyline.

     

May 2006, Left, the changing scene around Liverpool's Princes Dock, the half-tide dock has been part in filled for access to the west side for the apartment block being constructed on the left of the picture.
