Left, this view from the mid fifties shows the type and size of vessel trading between Ireland and the Port of Garston pictured from Otterspool Promenade, right returning almost fifty years later very little had changed, sailing boats now use the much improved condition of the water, Anglers fish from the river wall, what ever happened to the shelters along the prom ?
During the 1980's freight trains returned to the Liverpool Dock Estate, pictured left a pair of Class 20 Diesel Locomotives haul a coal train through Gladstone Dock towards the Strand Road Junction,
