Left, One of the last Vessel's to use S.2. Seaforth Berth for it's original use as a fresh meat berth, The berth is now used for Bulk handling with additional storage for animal feeds. During a Port dispute at Southampton The SAECS group including OCL, Safmarine, D.A.L. & Nedlloyd, transferred Operations to The Port of Liverpool using the largest container carrier's at the time to visit the Port. Pictured alongside S5 Berth is" S.A.Winterberg" 52,615 GRT Length 258m beam 32m. Service speed 22 knots.
Pictured in the early 1980's is "Apapa Palm" alongside North 1 Huskisson Dock. Built 1973, 9,396 GRT. Length 146 m Beam 22m Service speed 17 knots.
The Huskisson Berth's were Operated by the Stevedoring Company Liverpool Maritime Terminals (LMT) , this Vessel was a regular along with Ocean Vessels trading between Europe and West Africa.
