What
is Live voice chat?
The live voice
chat room is a breakthrough in online communication, bringing
the Internet a step closer to replacing the conventional telephone
by providing the facility to speak to other surfers in real-time.
You will need
a JAVA compatible browser to run the program. When you first
enter the page, your browser should automatically start downloading
a small component required for the facility the work (if it
does not, you may need to update your browser to a newer version).
When downloading completes, a box will display asking if you
would like to install it. Select 'OK' and the program will
start running. This will only happen once.
How
do I use the Live voice chat feature?
The program
looks similar to ICQ or AOL's Instant messager - when you
join the chat room, you will appear in the box as a 'guest'.
If other people are in the chat room you will see them listed
also. You should also be able to hear them talking to each
other. Plug a microphone into your computer, ensure the volume
is turned up on your sound settings and then press 'F4' on
your keyboard to talk. Remember, what you say goes out live
to the others. You cannot delete and re-record - so be careful
what you say!
This facility
is provided by an external company. We cannot be held responsible
for the program or its contents.
