The levels of the Award are:

At each level, there are four (five for Gold) different sections, with a huge
range of possible activities within each section as follows:

Service |
To be of use to your community by helping with conservation work; learning
First Aid; or maybe training as a Lifesaver, or simply helping a charity.
You need do this for from 3 to 18 months depending upon level of the
Award.

Skills |
You work at a hobby or other interest from 3 to 18 months depending
on level of Award. It might be photography, drama, dog training,
vehicle mechanics, electronics or any of a number of ideas from over 200 programmes.
Experts work with you to share their skills.

Physical Recreation |
You need to take part in some sporting activity for between 3 and 18
months and learn more about the skills, rules and how the sport is run.
You have lots of choice--rugby, soccer, tennis, dance, aerobics, swimming,
ski, wrestle and even parachuting. If you wish you can gain coaching and
other awards from the sporting governing bodies. Its all down to you!

Expedition |
This is where you plan, train for, and then safely undertake a journey in the
countryside on foot; by canoe; sailing or riding. You go as a member of a team
for from 2 to 4 days, camping, cooking and enjoying your planned
venture. |

Residential |
Gold only
You will stay away from home for 5 days in a residential setting either
through voluntary service or some form of training. Residential settings
may be in centres, youth hostels, sailing ships or camps. These may
be abroad. |
