Jacqueline Pittam

Showing 30th March - 26th April 2008

Jacqueline is a Watercolour Artist who lives and works in Newcastle upon Tyne . Her work is inspired by the natural world often taking material from photography and found images abstracting them into her own unique style. She uses the aesthetic quality of colour and form to represent the positive pleasures someone feels when looking at something truly beautiful. She questions the role of beauty in life, in art and in existence capturing its ‘boundedness’, its charms, adding a playfulness to her paintings.

“That pleasure which is at once the most intense, the most elevating, and most pure, is I believe, found in the contemplation of the beautiful.” Edgar Allan Poe.
