November sees  the amazing Lizzie Rowe coming to the ArtCafe at La Boca. For the past decade, Lizzie’s paintings and drawings have dealt with the issues of gender, identity and sexuality on a personal level. As a transgendered woman she sees no separation between her life and her work as an artist; the two are irrevocably linked. In this exhibition, which brings together a wide range of paintings and drawings from Lizzie’s portfolio, she reflects over the thoughts, feelings and moments in time which prompted her to create the images exhibited. Highlights include her fascination with the ‘beauty of the mundane’, washing lines and the dresses, which are so prominent in her work. This unique approach to exhibiting Lizzie’s paintings and drawings unveils a light hearted and funny side to Lizzie rarely experienced in other shows.
