Yacht Sea Essay of Hamble

Introduction
This is an occasional document issued by the Yacht Secretary, which will be placed on the CSD website and sent to all CSSA approved Skippers in CSD when there is new and/or important operational information to promulgate. A copy is also held on board Sea Essay. There is no intention to produce newsletters on a regular basis. Each one is numbered in sequence so recipients can identify if any are missing.
Items for this issue of the Skippers Newsletter are as follows:-
New Procedures for Access to Sea Essay boat keys.
MDL are introducing new procedures for issuing boat
keys at Mercury Yacht Harbour which come into force on 1st August 2007.
From that date MYH will only issue the key to Sea Essay to persons authorised by CSD. Authorised persons will be CSD committee members, Yacht Husband team, approved contractors and CSSA Approved Skippers. CSD have provided MYH with lists of names for the first three categories and agreed with MDL/MYH for them to accept the CSSA Approved Skipper Card as authority for Skippers to sign for the key.
Therefore, with effect from 1st August, Skippers should present their CSSA Approved Skipper card when signing out the keys for Sea Essay. Without this card the key will not be issued which will inevitably delay access to the yacht. CSD cannot accept responsibility for such delays. It would also be advisable to carry your charter agreement as supplementary evidence, but this will no longer be sufficient on its own.
By way of reminder, the CSSA Approved Skipper card is of credit card size and made of laminated paper rather than being completely plastic like a credit card and includes your personal details on the back.
If any Skipper has misplaced their card they should contact Anna Wetherall, the CSSA Offshore Secretary, to enquire about a replacement. e-mail: anna.wetherall@btinternet.com
