The Forest of Dean is a magnificent 30 sq. miles of mixed broad leaf and conifer Forest, located between the River Severn, it's great flood plains and the River Wye and its steep sided tree lined valley and cliffs, "a forgotten part of West Gloucestershire". The Forest and Wye Valley has welcomed tourists since Victorian times, unlike many places you can walk miles without seeing a living soul, just the ghosts of the Forest's past.

Poolway is a small Manor House Hotel with seven bedrooms dating back to the 16th Century, with it's ancient beams and ambience hidden behind the Georgian facade. If you are looking for a short break, long weekend or a winter retreat we would be pleased to welcome you to Poolway, even if all you want to do is catch the train to Cardiff for some Christmas shopping. The menu offers simple grills and more imaginative choices, prepared by Michael, using fresh food, often locally produced, "the food is one of the reasons so many of you come back, or is it just my happy disposition?" Poolway is known locally for value and quality, we also offer a good draught lager & bitter with a selection of inexpensive wines from around the world.
