Carl
Baker missed the 2-1 victory against Vauxhall an injury
obtained at work. In
an interview with the club’s official website, Southport
boss Liam Watson confirmed that Baker’s surprise
exclusion was because of a dead-leg picked up in an incident
with a box, earlier in the week. The ‘Port manager
confirmed Baker will be fit for tomorrow’s trip
to Barrow.
Steve Pickford
deputised for Baker, but either could miss out as competition
for midfield places hots-up. Watson was also quick to
pay tribute to central midfielders Dominic Morley and
captain Chris Price.
‘Dominic
has got a great physique, he works with weights and it
doesn’t stop him getting around the pitch. Pricey
is the type who will wear his heart on his sleeve –
he’s done a great job for me.’
